Making Sense of China's Economic Reform: Initial Success and Current Danger

In an overview of China's export performance in the recent decades post liberalization, this presentation presents key facts and figures on structure and composition of Chinese exports , in particular sounding a warning bell against the increasing share of largely foreign owned processing trade in total exports and its ramifications in terms of increased inequalities, lower local content requirements, crowding out of domestic firms etc for domestic growth and development.
