Macroeconomic Policy, Inequality and Poverty Reduction in India and China

Among the positive similarities between China and India in the globalisation era is also one with negative implications. And this is the rise in within country inequalities. This paper offers a comparison of the nature of macroeconomic policies in India and China, assessing the growth performance and its impact on poverty and inequality, and also specifically addressing the question of how the macro policies have contributed to observed outcomes.
