financial crisis becomes increasingly
global, world economy seems headed for
a deep and synchronised downturn. The
latest UNCTAD policy brief argues that
in such circumstances, traditional adjustment
packages are counterproductive and countercyclical
policies are needed to stimulate domestic
demand in all countries.
