Job as Research Coordinators with United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD)

The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) seeks two research coordinators to manage projects and provide intellectual leadership in the following programme areas:

Social Policy and Development: Work in this area examines the role of social policy in
promoting social protection and social justice, and involves interdisciplinary research and debate on the relationship between social policy, economic development and democratization.

Identities, Conflict and Cohesion: Work in this area involves research into the complex ways identities affect patterns of exclusion and solidarity, provide a basis both for conflict and cohesion, and are transformed in the context of globalization, economic development and social change.

Research coordinators are also expected to carry out independent research and writing;substantive editing of case study reports; contribute to flagship and other Institutereports; assist in fund raising; and interact with UN agencies.

Qualifications: Advanced social sciences degree, minimum of seven years' experience in development research at developing-country and international levels, and a track record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields.

Languages: Fluent English with proven ability in writing/editing of reports. Good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish desirable.

Location: Geneva, Switzerland.
