The
Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of the IMF is
seeking Economists/Sr. Economists or Evaluators/Sr.
Evaluators for its staff positions based at the IMF
headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate(s) will participate in teams
preparing evaluation reports that are part of the
IEO's work program. Responsibilities will involve
working on a variety of evaluation projects, with
the basic objective of learning from experience and
supporting the Fund's Executive Board in its oversight
function.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' professional
experience in the management and/or evaluation of
economic policy, or in an academic/research environment.
Additionally, candidates must possess outstanding
analytical and interpretive skills; an established
command of macroeconomics or related field; knowledge
of the IMF's mandate and operations; and strong oral
and written communication skills. Proficiency in English
is required, and fluency in other languages, is desirable.
Knowledge of evaluation methodology is also desirable.
Educational Requirements
Candidates are required to hold an advanced university
degree in macroeconomics or a related field.
