The
author analyses the recent upheaval in
Egypt, which is unprecedented in the history
of the country. While all the conditions
for this 'revolution' were present for
many years, it is of importance to study
what really triggered it at present. The
suddenness of the event has once again
proved that cultural explanations of revolutions
are inappropriate tools of analysis.
