The International Secretariat for Human Development (ISHD) is an international initiative located at York University, Toronto, Canada. It is involved in research, training and related activities on the theme of human development, defined broadly. One of the Secretariat's main objectives is to support the work of young scholars and practitioners in countries of the South. To that end, we are currently administering a small grants program. In this pilot phase of the project, 5 small grants of $1000 each will be awarded to scholars or practitioners whose work make important contributions to human development.

Selected authors will be notified by January 15, 2005.
