Cambridge
Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF) is an independent
research institute based at the Judge Institute of
Management in the University of Cambridge
(www.cerf.cam.ac.uk).
Applications are invited for a research assistant
to work on a new policy oriented research project
on Strategic Scenarios for the World Economy and Economic
Policy Co-ordination in the Developing World.
As research assistant you are expected to work with
data compilation and analysis, and documentation and
literature review regarding the world economy. You
will assist in writing of reports, preparation of
presentations and seminars, and the editing of project
outputs. You will facilitate the relationship with
project partners and donors and help organise workshops
and seminars. Additionally, your duties will include
responsibilities for record keeping regarding the
project and some general administration.
You should have a degree in Economics or Statistics
and sufficient knowledge and/or experience in using
national accounting data and managing large databases.
Exposure to developing country macroeconomic issues
would be valuable. You should be self-reliant and
meticulous in assembling data, estimating statistical
relationships, creating basic macro's and routines,
etc., using spreadsheet, statistical and database
applications. You must be familiar with handling electronic
documents and presentations. Proficiency in English
is required. Experience in multiparty international
projects is of advantage.
This is a full time position. The appointment is in
thefirst instance for 1 year, but may be extended
subject to funding. The salary will be in the range
£19 460 - £21 640pa.
